“I can’t believe it”, “it is real?”, “I can’t wait”, “I’m so excited”… we’re so happy to have been asked by Mothers4Children to host their big raffle event. Hopefully we’ll get to post some of the winners enjoying their prizes real soon.

For now though I wanted to share the most asked question .. where we go from here?

The whole Raffle.it team have enjoyed the feeling that we may have helped, in some small way, to make a difference. We wanted more! So we’ve been looking at what worked and perhaps more importantly what didn’t work during Mothers4Children’s event, and have come up with a service to support as many great causes as will let us … at the same time! The last 3 months saw us dedicate our site to Mothers4Children, obviously this approach is just not scalable.

So we’ve just created 1 million raffle.it sites!

Each one is available for adoption by a great cause. They can brand the site with their logo and add information about them and it even comes with an easy to remember web address .. name.raffle.it. But just giving all these great causes their own raffle.it is all very well but what about raffle prizes?

Having chatted to a number of charities, we learned that it’s not so easy to get desirable prizes donated and certainly not sustainable. So there’s often a requirement to underwrite prizes which is crazy when the aim of a raffle is to raise funds.

We can fix this easily we thought. We’ll source some prizes and serve these across all of the different raffle.its. Each charity can then sell as many or as few tickets in these raffles without the risk or burden of having to pay for prizes to be delivered. Something else magical happens with this collective approach. We’re all selling tickets in the same raffles, each of us perhaps selling a small number of tickets … but it adds up to a whole lot of tickets being sold. Each raffle, as always, still has a maximum number of available tickets so raffles will finish much sooner, the game we’ve dared to imagine finally delivering true edge of your seat excitement as you play to hold on to unique numbers.. battling it out to bag the most desirable or prizes.. all the while donating to the causes most great to you.
